What are you most excited about for this upcoming market?
For this upcoming market, S&H Rugs is absolutely thrilled about the incredible evolution of texture, innovative finishing techniques, and the blurring of lines between traditional heritage and contemporary design. We are pushing the boundaries of materials and weaving in ways that seamlessly integrate into broader interior trends.
S&H Rugs is eagerly anticipating how makers are re-imagining classic foundations with highly specialized finishing techniques. The artistry involved in producing a pure silk, distressed, textured, high and low hand-knotted Oriental rug is reaching new levels this season. The way this luminous look interacts with varied pile heights creates a brilliant patina that bridges antiquity and fresh, sumptuous design.
There is also a beautiful shift toward sensory-driven, contemporary aesthetics. S&H Rugs looks forward to presenting collections featuring a silk, textured, tone-on-tone, modern, hand-knotted Oriental rug that uses rich, subtle dimensions. This style is becoming essential for anchoring spaces with a sense of quiet, understated elegance.
What are some trends you’re seeing in rug designs?
S&H Rugs recognizes that the industry is heavily embracing raw, earthy aesthetics paired with sustainable materials. The deconstructed, wabi-sabi look of an oxidized and distressed grass design with exposed warps brings an edgy, tactile element straight to the floor. When these innovative, rugged textures are executed flawlessly, the high-density construction allows for crisp detailing and a sophisticated sheen that truly stands out.

Lavin Rugs
IHFC, Commerce C258 | www.lavinrugs.com
What new introductions will you be showing at the market?
This October, we’re excited to introduce 54 unique new Lavin rugs, including 26 handmade and 28 machine-made designs. The launch includes six completely new handmade collections and nine new power-loomed collections, along with new additions to two of our best-selling handmade collections. It’s a significant introduction for Lavin and gives us an opportunity to show a much broader range of what we can offer. Across the
new collections, we’ve focused heavily on color, texture, construction and creating designs that feel fresh and relevant for today’s market while continuing to deliver the value our customers expect from Lavin.
Have you made any changes to your showroom recently?
If so, what?
Yes, we’re actually moving into a new, larger showroom within the IHFC for this market. Our new location will be IHFC-C258, Commerce, 2nd Floor. It’s in a more highly trafficked area, which will give Lavin more exposure and give us the additional space we need to showcase both our new introductions and existing collections.
We’re really excited about the move. It gives us an opportunity to better tell the Lavin story, show how much the brand has grown and create a space that represents where we’re headed.
What are you most excited about for this upcoming market?
What I’m most excited about is having the opportunity to tell the story of how Lavin is evolving and growing. There has been a lot of work happening behind the scenes, from developing new product and expanding our assortment to continuing to define who we are and where we want to go as a brand.
High Point gives us the opportunity to bring all of that together. I’m looking forward to meeting with our customers, showing them what we’ve been working on and having conversations about where Lavin is today and where we’re headed. Of course, I’m incredibly excited about the new product, but I’m equally excited for people to see the bigger picture and the momentum we’re building at Lavin.
What are some trends you’re seeing in rug designs?
I think one of the biggest things we’re seeing is that people don’t want rugs to feel so perfect anymore. They want more character and something that feels a little more unique. Texture is a big part of that. Even a very simple design can become much more interesting through the way it feels and
the dimension it has. We’re also seeing warmer colors, more variation and a little more of that handmade, collected look, even in machine-made rugs. Overall, I think people want rugs that are easy to live with but still have some personality.
Do you have any market events planned?
We don’t have any formal events planned for this market. Our focus is really on the new product and welcoming customers into the showroom to see everything we’ve been working on. We have so much new to show, and that’s really the event for us this market.
